Welcome to John Stuart’s world of architecture, where creativity, design, science, technology, education, and community engagement converge!
A Distinguished University Professor and Associate Dean at Florida International University’s College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts (CARTA), John leads innovation labs, resilience-focused projects, and historic preservation initiatives that reveal how architecture both shapes and is shaped by cultural narratives, environmental challenges, and technological advances.
With a multidisciplinary approach that spans design research, extended reality, data-driven innovation, entrepreneurship, and public engagement, he fosters immersive, experiential learning that prepares students for real-world impact. From pioneering 3D printing applications to advising on climate resilience and integrating artificial intelligence into design and science communication, John collaborates with diverse communities to reimagine the future of built environments.
For him, architecture is more than buildings—it’s a dynamic framework for understanding and improving the world!
